The pros and cons of Aluminum Windows:
The biggest single pitfall for Aluminum Windows is that the metal frame will transfer heat and cold and will greatly reduce your energy efficiency and ultimately increase your monthly electric bills.  In Florida, decreasing your windows energy efficiency can be very costly.  This energy efficiency challenge can be overcome by using a high grade aluminum window such as the custom made Florida Lifetime Aluminum Window product that has a thicker frame with the hollow portions of the frame filled with special insulating foam.  For Hi-Rise condos, Multi-Use properties and Commercial applications, Aluminum Windows are usually the better choice.  However, when it comes to residential home use and low-rise condos, replacing your windows with a new vinyl replacement window tends to be the better solution 80% of the time.
